Logen VanArkel

Whether its hitting deadlines, working to achieve goals, or managing several tasks at once, all jobs involve some degree of pressure. Logen VanArkel, shipping lead for Western Window Systems, not only understands the urgency of his department, he handles the stress of the job like a pro.

“We’re always under pressure to get trailers out,” says freight manager Mike “Hollywood” Flores. “I can put a plan together with Logen and know he’ll get it done, no matter how difficult or impossible it seems.”

Flores goes on to say that VanArkel consistently tackles the most difficult trailers or containers first. Detail-driven, he ensures products are correctly located, loaded, and marked on shipping paperwork. To increase productivity and accuracy, VanArkel helped to institute a new process of accounting for all products on a trailer before they are loaded.

On the core value of partnership, VanArkel, who started with the company in July 2014, unifies his crew through owning his position and maintaining control.

“Logen takes the time to tell his team the why of what they’re doing,” says production manager Chris Allgood. “This helps them to get behind whatever project he’s working on.”

Congratulations to Logen VanArkel, Western Window Systems’ shop employee of the month for October.
