Michel Powell

For Michel Powell in accounts receivable, every detail counts. And with the growth rate of Western Window Systems currently around 80%, the details are more essential than ever.

“Every month, Michel is dedicated to the continuous improvement of the billing and invoicing system by solving problems and maintaining the integrity of the amounts billed to our customers,” says CFO Rick Lingen. “And she does it while handling an over 60% increase in invoices and cash receipts.”

One of Powell’s biggest achievements happened during the conversion of billing to CustomView (Western’s online quoting system and ordering process) in May of last year. By regularly communicating with inside sales and IT, Powell was able to correct systematic issues quickly and efficiently, making sure customers were billed correctly and that invoice reports were accurate.

“Michel was in constant contact with our customer’s accounting departments, training them on our new invoicing system and establishing relationships that have been instrumental in our collection efforts,” says Lingen.

He adds that Powell has the best interests of Western’s internal customers in mind as well.

“She’s flexible with her schedule and does what it takes to meet deadlines,” Lingen says. “She’s even gone so far as to show up before the 5 a.m. production shift.”

Congratulations to Michel Powell, Western Window Systems’ office employee of the month
for June.
