One thing you’ll never hear from Katie Nau is, “That’s not my job.” The executive assistant at Western Window Systems isn’t above taking on undesirable tasks, helping others, or working extra hours on projects.
“Do you like our annual company picnic? Do you like our team events and prizes? If you do, thank Katie,” says Scott Gates, CEO and president of Western Window Systems. “They wouldn’t happen without her.”
Gates goes on to say that what makes Nau successful is that she seeks opportunities to be useful and create value. By chipping in and working with various departments, Nau, who started at Western Window Systems in April 2014, is able to learn more about the business and her coworkers. This understanding not only creates efficiency, but empathy as well.
“When you give Katie a project, you can be confident she’ll take care of it,” says Gates, “whether it’s running a report or running out to the store to pick up a TV as a prize for our company lunch. She tackles everything with a positive attitude and goes the extra mile to help everyone around her.”
Congratulations to Katie Nau, Western Window Systems’ office employee of the month for August.
