Western Window Systems is partnering with Sunset magazine on the 2015 Idea House, a mid-century remodel that will transform a 1954 bungalow in Denver into a three-level 5,100-square-foot modern home.
“The remodel truly celebrates the city’s outdoor-loving lifestyle,” says Western Window Systems president and COO Scott Gates. “The indoor/outdoor appeal is perfect for our products, and Denver’s booming housing market is a great place to show them off.”
The 2015 Sunset Idea House, featuring architect/builder Jonas DiCaprio of Design Platform and interior designer Megan Hudacky of cky design, showcases new ideas in architecture, construction, design, and sustainable building and gardening practices, themes often found in the pages of Sunset magazine.
Western Window Systems will provide all of the windows and doors for the Idea House, including the award-winning Series 9500 Bi-Fold Door, sliding glass doors and windows, fixed windows, and casements and awnings from the company’s new Series 670 hinged window line. The innovative products will be showcased in key remodeling phases that merge the interior to the exterior, such as moving the kitchen from the front of the home to the back to open up to the yard, and adding a second level with a master suite and rooftop deck.
The 2015 Idea House will open for home tours from August 7 through September 13. It will also be included as part of the Sunset Home & Garden Tour on August 22, and the Denver Food & Wine Festival September 8-12.
